During the summer months, IOW offers its popular-science lecture series “The Baltic and Other Seas.” In my presentation I discussed my recent work and explained how the state of the Atlantic Multidecadal Oscillation (AMO) affects the Baltic Sea. The AMO is part of natural variability in the ocean: a phenomenon that changes the sea surface temperature of the North Atlantic periodically every 60 - 90 years.
